We are working with Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 team on a charitable project for an electric wheelchair user who is planning to travel from Lands’ End to John O Groats in 20 Days. The wheelchair is being built by Mercedes at their headquarters in Brackley and we are designing and installing the Victron Energy Lithium battery system.

The Covid pandemic has delayed the attempt which was due to happened earlier this year. It is now scheduled for spring next year.

We will be at Mercedes next week (8th September) to install the equipment which includes remote monitoring which will enable us to calculate the number of daily recharges needed, and to fine tune the system.
On Tuesday 8th September 2020 we spent the day at Mercedes Headquarters at Brackley to initially install the equipment. As well as the Lithium batteries and supporting equipment we have fitted a Venus GX which will allow us to monitor the power consumption of the chair via the Victron VRM portal. With this data collected during the testing phase we will be able to fine tune the system and recommend the most efficient speed, and recharge stops. We will also be able to track the progress of the chair during the challenge
