In just over 18 months Ian Herbert Jones will set off on the Golden Globe 2022 Race. Victron energy sent Jono down in December to film some of the preparation work and the Video was released today. This is the first in a series of videos documenting the lead up to the race. There is an accompanying blog, and the video will feature on the home page of Victron Energy BV. It looks like there is finally light at the end of the tunnel. If all goes well it looks like from April the 12th, we will be able to stay overnight on our boats once again. We are preparing to welcome clients back by preparing our workshop by installing the latest Raymarine Demonstration equipment. Come along and see the new Axiom Pro, Axiom+ CAM200 and new Lighthouse Charts. We will also have Victron equipment on display. Our test boat “Bucks Fizz II” is packed with high tech electronics, including Lithium Batteries. Raymarine Axiom displays 3D sonar, and integration of Victron & Raymarine. An exciting new development is the Maretron Digital Switching systems. We have a demonstration system which after testing and exploring its possibilities will be installed on our test boat. In the past we have used Digital Switching systems on Superyacht projects. The cost was prohibitive, and it was a case of “if you have to ask the price you can’t afford it.” The Maretron M Power system changes all that. If you are looking at re-wiring your boat or Expedition Truck, it can work out cheaper to use digital switching. More to follow in the next couple of months.
